CHILLED TURTLE GETS SKATES ON FOR PADDLE ROUND THE PIER 2008
5th July 2008
Chilled Turtle have teamed up with longboarding initiative BoardFree to host a 4 mile mass skate in aid of the charities supported by Paddle Round the Pier 2008. Visit www.chilledturtle.com for more information about the brand 'Chilled Turtle'.
Skaters of all ages and abilities are invited to join the skate, the first of its kind in Brighton. Mass charity skates have become the norm around Britain thanks to the emergence of longboarding as a viable method of environmentally-friendly transport. This event is open to all skateboarders, of any experience, no limits.
The skate will be on the first day of the festival, Saturday 5th July. Led by Dave Cornthwaite, founder of BoardFree and current world-record holder for the longest ever distance skated, an accolade he achieved by pushing his board across Australia in 2006. Visit www.boardfree.co.uk for more information on BoardFree.
We plan to start at Hove Lagoon from 12.30pm, skate to the Paddle Village as a first stop and then continue down to Yellowave as the final destination point. The route will be posted as soon as it is confirmed.
There is a sponsorship form available to download, with the link above. All sponsorship money raised will be handed in before the start of the skate and all money raised is going to the Paddle nominated charities. Chilled Turtle and BoardFree are proud to be working with Paddle Round The Pier 2008 on raising money for charity.
