Sussex Surf and Windsurf Club
SUSW is a vibrant and active
Brighton based, student-led club. The Surf club was founded in 2002,
and since the incorporation of Windsurfing two years later it has gone
from strength to strength.
In terms of what we do; our preoccupations are getting in the water
whenever there is wind or are waves. We surf regularly at Brighton 's
main spots as well as at the Whitterings and the West country, where we
run regular trips. We windsurf in Hove , particularly from Hove Lagoon,
and we run various level courses there and get involved in the SWA
(Student Windsurfing Association) race and freestyle competitions
around Britain 's windy coastline. Whilst being a dynamic club with
competitive teams (who fair well at the BUSAS each year) we are a far
cry from being exclusive; running beginner lessons at home and away and
having weekly socials on our Falmer campus and in Brighton town.
We are steadily forging links with Brighton 's surf and windsurf
community and consolidating the Clubs position within it- the rest of
what we do is up to our members.
